User-Centric AI: Rethinking Product Development Approach for the Next-Gen experiences.
Amidst the recent surge in AI trends, numerous companies have started to develop AI-powered products. But here’s a key question: are they genuinely meeting users’ true needs, or are they simply caught up in the AI hype?
Traditional product development frameworks do not take into consideration the non-deterministic nature of AI, along with its limitations, feasibility, and viability around data and AI. This raises the question: how can we evolve the product development process to address both user needs and technological requirements simultaneously?
In the first segment, we will delve into the rationale of how the AI development process differs from traditional product development. We will discuss the limitations of the traditional process and cover differences in identifying use cases, prototyping AI concepts, and evaluating processes.
In the second segment, we’ll share our experiences, the challenges we faced, and the lessons we learned while working on projects such as AI Hotel Highlights Summary, which provides users with key aspects to know about the hotel, and AI Free Text Search, where we explore the paradigm shift in user interaction by moving away from entering destinations towards free-form natural language input.
Key Takeaways for the Audience:
How can the product development process evolve for AI products?
How can user needs be effectively addressed while considering technical constraints?
What are the common challenges in developing AI products and how can they be mitigated?
How can we design safe experiences when generative AI responses can be so variable?
